Stocksnowball Portfolio

I consider myself a value and dividend investor! You might say opportunist. Passive income is great! With dividends come income. I'm looking for companies that not only pay a dividend but grow the dividend faster than the rate of inflation. I am convinced that concentrated investing works best! Fewer companies allow more focus on one's good ideas. There are many ways to construct a portfolio to diversify differently these are just my ideas. I do feel this portfolio and list of companies will fit well in any portfolio.

I have followed advice from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger in finding high quality companies with brands that will consistently grow. The main reason, I picked the companies I did, is because I understand them… they are in my "circle of competence." Each company has an advantage with the scale of its business and resources. They all have strong moats.

I really like companies who the founder has built a great company and brand and where that company has kept the model and prospered. For example, Wal-Mart started by Sam Walton, McDonald's by Ray Kroc; Exxon Mobil a son of Standard Oil started by John D. Rockefeller, Berkshire Hathaway still has its leaders!

What I have learned is you buy a company after it has had a miss in earnings or problems in operations. You buy when others say it is over and has no chance to regain glory. Then be patient and let the management team put the plan into focus. You then sell into strength. Depending on the situation you find another company and do it all over again.

Here are some quality ideas, not recommendations to buy.

Updated May 19, 2022 The companies listed are most recent holdings. If I totally sold out and rebuy into a company I put the most recent buy date.

This list can change at anytime. I also like to hedge with covered calls so I may not be long but neutral on some of the picks. I sell puts and use options. I will update it again in a few months. Contact me or leave a comment on what you like. I'm always open to good ideas!!! Thanks DSF
